The Hotel Arco Iris Lodge of Costa Rica is located just outside the village of Santa Elena some three and a half miles before the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. The Lodge is located within walking distance of the bank, supermarket and bus stop. Public transportation and taxis are available for reaching the Santa Elena and Monteverde Reserves.
Arco Iris Lodge offers a tranquil tropical retreat close to the center of the village of Santa Elena, Monteverde. Accommodation is in well designed, comfortable cabins, constructed by local craftsmen using building materials from the surrounding area. Each of the twelve cabins offers a private bathroom with hot water and a balcony or terrace. The cabins are set among carefully preserved forest fragments and landscaped gardens where both ornamental plants and a variety of fruit trees abound, attracting many different species of birds and butterflies.
The hotel is located half way between the Monteverde and Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserves and close to all other local tourist attractions. Our knowledgeable and helpful hotel staff can assist you in planning and booking tours and excursions in the Monteverde area during your stay.
We prepare a hearty and delicious buffet breakfast daily, featuring freshly prepared foods - some made from our own organic garden produce - representing a blend of European and Costa Rican cuisine. We offer hot and cold drinks throughout the day. There are several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel which serve a variety of local and international dishes.

Local Information
Transfer to or from La Fortuna (taxi / boat / taxi) - The ride taxi-boat-taxi combination: Truly the fastest way to get to or come from La Fortuna in 2 ½ - 3 hours! A taxi will take you down to Lake Arenal where a boat is waiting to take you across the lake. A cab picks you up on the other side to take you to the center or the hotel of your choice. US$ 25 per person, extra US$ 20 if you go to or come from the Observatory Lodge. From Santa Elena to La Fortuna: Pick up at 8.00 a.m. - from La Fortuna to Santa Elena: Pick up at 8.30 a.m. Also available at 2:00 pm from Monteverde or 2:30 pm from La Fortuna.
Additional Information
Rates include all tax. Optional breakfast is offered for $7 per person. Lodging for additional guest at $10 per night. Since the rooms differ in size and location, the rates also vary slightly.
